Ezze privacy policy

Last updated October 15, 2026

Ezze is a private assistant used by one family and a few family friends. Only people on the family's own list can use it. This page says what Ezze does with information, and above all with email when a person connects their mailbox.

Who can use Ezze

Only people the family has added by name. There is no public sign-up. Each person's conversation and settings are kept separately, and no person can see another's mailbox.

Connecting a mailbox

A person may choose to connect their own mailbox, and only their own: for Gmail, the Google account must be the same address the family has on file for them. Ezze asks Google for three permissions: to read email (gmail.readonly), to see the calendar (calendar.readonly), and to send email (gmail.send); Microsoft is asked the same, to read mail and calendars and to send mail. Ezze sends an email only when the person has checked it on a private page and pressed Send there; it never sends on its own. It cannot delete, move, label or change any email, and cannot add, change or remove any calendar event. A person may decline the sending permission and still connect for reading. For other mail services it opens the mailbox read-only.

What Ezze reads and when

Ezze reads a person's email or calendar when they ask it to, and for standing tasks they set up themselves (such as watching new mail for bills to file), until they stop them. If a person asks Ezze to help find email by what it was about, it goes through their mailbox and keeps it indexed.

What Ezze keeps

Who else sees it

To answer a question or carry out a task, the relevant parts of a message are processed by the AI services that do that work, by search services (the question only), and by the cloud providers that host Ezze and its storage. They act on Ezze's behalf and may not train AI on the data; the AI and search services keep it only for a limited time under their terms. Email is never sold, never used for advertising, and never read by a person unless the owner of the mailbox asks for help.

Google user data

Ezze's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail and Google Calendar data is used only for the connected person's own features (their questions, their tasks, their email search, their vault, and emails they approve), is not used to develop, improve or train any AI or machine-learning model, and is not transferred except to the services described above to provide those features.

Stopping it

A person can tell Ezze "disconnect my email" at any time: the key is deleted at once and, for Gmail, handed back to Google. They can also remove Ezze from their Google account's security page (Third-party apps with account access), or cancel the code they made in their mail service. Either way Ezze can no longer read the mailbox.
